The Scorpions Back To The Tracks (45" Vinyl E.P.)
Temptation / Last Chance / Telstar / Hot Rod Breakdown
The Scorpions go back to the tracks for their first new recordings for
some thirty or so years.
Back in 1961 the band, Ted Barber (lead guitar), John Barber (bass),
and Ivor Knight (drums), recorded two singles that became legendary amongst
instrumental collectors worldwide. Throughout the remainder of that decade
they continued on a musical odyssey, flirting with numerous sounds as they
kept up with the rapidly changing styles of those times. Particularly notable
was a short period when they worked with maverick producer Joe Meek as
The Ferridays. Now, with nineties music shunted firmly into a dead end
siding, the band are back with a quartet of power instrumentals to show
us how it should be done. Hold on tight - The Scorpions are back on track!
Recorded at The House in The Woods Studio. Engineered by Simon Milton.
